Getting Started With Therapy

Emotional Health & Wellness

Therapy provides a safe space for you to heal and grow by offering the necessary support, guidance, and encouragement while creating a more sustainable path forward.

Since individuals and couples tend to enter therapy when experiencing high distress, it would seem natural to focus on their present struggles.  However, we have found that by focusing on optimal fulfillment and the underlying causes of the distress, the process of therapy can have a much more significant and lasting impact on the quality of one’s life and relationships for years to come.

Weekly Therapy

You can expect to meet with your therapist once per week at a mutually agreed upon day and time. This helps to establish a high quality therapeutic relationship and also allows us to build momentum toward your desired outcomes. We are able to add HIPPA compliant video/ calls to supplement the treatment process when necessary (i.e., when an individual client is out of town on business or when an additional session is necessary).

Individual sessions: 45/50 minutes

Couple/ Family sessions: 60 minutes

Special Therapy Programs

Our intensive programs for individuals  and couples  are tailored to the needs of each client and designed to target specific areas of concern.

We are happy to discuss the best fit for you in our initial phone call.

Our First Meeting

In order to simplify the process of getting started and to maximize our time in session, standard paperwork is completed prior to our first meeting. This allows us to jump right in when you arrive to your first appointment.

Confidentiality

A client’s confidentiality is of primary importance. In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all client/ therapist communications. However, there are a few exceptions when confidentiality must be broken:

  • Suspected child, dependent adult, or elder abuse.
  • If you threaten serious bodily harm to another, your therapist must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
  • If you intend to harm yourself, your therapist will make every effort to enlist your cooperation in ensuring safety. If you do not cooperate, your therapist will take further measures to ensure your safety.

Cancellation Policy

If you must cancel an appointment, you are expected to provide a minimum of 48 hours notice. If we are unable to find an alternative time for the same week, you will be charged the session fee.

Fees & Payment

Fees are discussed when you schedule your first appointment. Rates are within reasonable and customary range. Payment for weekly therapy sessions is due at the time of service.
