Whether you are looking to strengthen your ability to navigate a tough life transition, learn new strategies to handle anxiety/ depression, or you’d like some help addressing important relationship concerns, we are here to help you achieve your personal goals.
Since therapy requires a serious commitment, it’s important to consider how therapy might fit in with your schedule.
In order to best serve our clients, we provide on-going weekly therapy services as well as intensive therapy programs for individuals and couples designed to target specific areas of concern. We are happy to discuss the best fit for you in our initial phone call.
Ongoing therapy sessions at Modern MFT meet in-person on a weekly basis in our Manhattan office (with the exception of an occasional phone session when necessary.)
Individual sessions are 50 minutes in length and couple sessions are 60 minutes in length (with the exception of our intensive programs.)
In order to simplify the process of getting started and to maximize our time in session, standard paperwork is completed prior to our first meeting. This allows us to start our sessions promptly when you arrive to your first appointment.
A client’s confidentiality is of primary importance. In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all client/ therapist communications. However, there are a few exceptions when confidentiality must be broken:
If you must cancel an appointment, you are expected to provide a minimum of 48 hours notice. If we are unable to find an alternative time for the same week, you will be charged the session fee.
Fees vary depending on type of service and are discussed when you schedule your first appointment. Payment for weekly therapy sessions is due at the time of service.
